On October 9, CRC celebrated its annual Thanksgiving Dinner with the Regent Park neighbourhood.
The evening opened with words of welcome from Louise Moody, CRC Executive Director, and grace by Rev. Karen Bowles of Rosedale United.
Once again, the food was delicious.
Turkey, halal chicken, potatoes, stuffing and all the trimmings, vegetables, juice, coffee or tea, and a choice of apple or pumpkin pie made up the meal. Each guest left with a gift bag of apples and healthy granola bars.
It was an opportunity for CRC to come together as one – residents of Regent Park, tenants of 40 Oaks, participants, volunteers, and staff.
The Rogers Family Room was full of the lively conversation and laughter as people enjoyed the meal and fellowship with each other.
Jennifer Wootton Regan organized the dinner on behalf of Rosedale United. Thank you Jennifer!
Rosedale provided a team of enthusiastic volunteers – youth and adults – who prepared and served the food. And, they were joined by volunteers from Bloor Street United. Thank you to both Rosedale and Bloor Street for their many helping hands.
