In 2008, Marilyn and her husband attended a Dine & Discover in the basement of the old CRC church building. She was hooked. Since then she has been a tireless champion of CRC and the Regent Park community.
Marilyn has contributed her extensive experience as a fundraiser and organizer to every one of CRC’s fund development initiatives since 2008. She has been instrumental in securing major donations to CRC.
Marilyn also helped organize the effort to have the apartments at 40 Oaks ready and furnished with dignity (right down to the salt and pepper shakers) for the new tenants that moved into the new building in January 2012.
Marilyn has been a stellar volunteer, serving in the meal program, as the volunteer coordinator, and now as the coordinator of corporate volunteers. She also currently serves on the Fund Development Committee, on the Honorary Board, and co-chairs the upcoming ‘2016 Building Lives Benefit’.
Marilyn has made a significant and outstanding impact as a CRC volunteer, friend, and donor. She is an inspiration to all she comes in contact with at CRC because of her unwavering enthusiasm, good humour, and the respect she shows to participants, volunteers, and staff.
Marilyn, because of your splendid and longstanding work as a volunteer, for your reliable and unwavering commitment to fundraising, volunteer coordination, and work with corporate volunteers, we now admit you to the office of Companion of CRC.
