October 18, 2016: On Monday, October 24, 2106, some of Canada’s leading entertainers will join forces with key corporations to raise funds for the CRC and the Regent Park Community Food Centre at the Building Lives Benefit.
In 2015, Regent Park had the highest child poverty rate in Canada and 46% of residents lived on low incomes. CRC goes beyond food banks to address the structures that keep people in poverty by building nutrition, life and cooking skills, offering programs that foster community resilience, and engaging local residents in social change. CRC addresses many of these needs with dedicated staff and over 29,000 volunteer hours.

The presenting sponsor for the Building Lives Benefit is Equitable Bank. Many others are supporting the event with funds and services. The evening will feature music from some of Canada’s most celebrated musicians and performers including Jackie Richardson, Shakura S’Aida, Juan Chioran, Paul Williamson, the Regent Park School of Music and Ross Petty, under the direction of David Warrack.
