40 Oaks Housing Community

CRC’s 40 Oaks Housing Community is the result of a dream to build deeply affordable housing in the Regent Park community. 40 Oaks consists of 87 apartments, mostly bachelor and one-bedroom suites, which are home to approximately 100 tenants.

CRC’s innovative supported housing model includes elements we know result in strong outcomes for our tenants: faster stabilization, low attrition (more people remain in their housing), and improved health/mental health by offering direct and specialized supports.

All tenants are supported by one of seven partner community services agencies which include Houselink, LOFT, Dixon Hall, Yonge Street Mission, Sound Times Support Services, St. Jude’s Community Homes and Regeneration Community Services.

Our dedicated 40 Oaks Tenant Engagement Coordinator works closely with this community to ensure all tenants are able to access to CRC’s wraparound supports and are meaningfully engaged in their community. Regular tenant meetings provide a forum for knowledge exchange and community resource information, and social events such as Field Trips and Cultural Celebrations take place several times a year.

Tenants are encouraged to access CRC’s Drop-in programs in CRC’s Community Hub, such as Community Meals and social and skill building clubs such as Learn an Instrument, Mindfulness Meditation, Knitting and Art Clubs, as well as Regent Park Community Food Centre programs such as Food Skills programs and workshops, Gardening programs and Peer Advocacy services.
