All are welcome to join us for a healthy meal in the Regent Park Community Food Centre’s Community Meal Program. We aim to serve fresh, nutritious meals, which are offered free of charge on a drop-in basis.
Join us for:
Breakfast on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9-10 am
Lunch on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 12-1pm
(Soup service begins at 11:45 and hot meal service from 12-1pm)
The food served varies day to day. A typical Monday breakfast may include a muffin, boiled egg, yogurt, seasonal fruit, and coffee and tea. On Wednesdays we offer a hearty breakfast which may include roasted potatoes, turkey sausage, seasonal fruit, yogurt, steel cut oatmeal porridge, coffee, and tea. Breakfast on Friday might include a bagel, scrambled egg, yogurt, seasonal fruit, coffee, and tea. Other breakfast items might include pancakes, French toast, waffles, frittatas, English muffins or smoothies
Lunches are hot and hearty. Our menu is diverse and includes a vegetarian option. Each lunch begins with a homemade soup such as lentil, chicken noodle, butternut squash and beef and barley. A typical Monday lunch might include chicken and vegetarian curry, savory rice and buttered corn kernals. Tuesday lunch might be shepherd’s pie, tossed salad, and garlic bread. On Thursday, lunch may include lasagna, green beans and plantain. Friday is “Soup and Sandwich” day with grilled cheese, tuna, egg salad, burritos, wraps or homemade burgers.
Our meals are served by volunteers at our tables in the dining room. We aim to use seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients where it is possible. We believe that all people deserve access to fresh, healthy food served with dignity and respect.
